Nicosia is a small village rich in history, architecture and culture. 

Located on four hills, Nicosia “the city of S.Nicolò”, has ancient origins dating back to the Byzantine period. Thanks to its wonderful location, it is a small village rich in history, architecture and culture. Federico II honoured it with the title “Civitas Costantissima”enriching the village with lots of important buildings. The most important cultural attractions of the village are the Cathedral, dedicated to S.Nicolò, which is considered one of the most relevant example of Gothic- Norman architecture in Sicily and the Church of Santa Maria Maggiore, built in the 13^th century, has a huge Baroque main entrance and late Renascence interior.
